About

History

In 1993 floodwaters rose around Marthasville, cutting many people off from their normal places of worship for many months. During this time a group of believers from several Baptist churches met in homes to seek God’s will about starting a church in Marthasville.

We prayed, studied and got to know each other, all while working in the community with disaster relief efforts during the Great Flood. A Baptist church had never been successful in the community, but the Lord made it possible for Charrette Baptist Church to form and thrive.

The word Charrette means “to carry.” He continues to carry our members and this community. We seek to be a place on the hill where Jesus can shine. We hope to form lasting relationships, edify the family, become who Jesus wants us to be, and most of all, to serve Him in whatever way He asks.

In 2002, members and friends built the building on the hill, its beautiful rock façade standing strong, with thoughts of the strength of our Lord. We affiliate with the Southern Baptist Convention, but our members come from many backgrounds. We have a blended music service, with all songs being songs of praise and worship.

We meet on Wednesday nights for prayer and children’s activities. We often serve potluck dinners and host community activities. We host the Southern Warren County Food Pantry and are watchful regarding the needs of the community. Several of our members are active in Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, serving around the country when disaster strikes.

We have been blessed in so many ways. Come grow with us!

Purpose Statement

We believe the church exists to equip believers to live the Great Commandment (Mat. 22: 37-40) in order that that they might fulfill the Great Commission (Mat. 28:19-20).

The Great Commandment

(Matthew 22:37-40 KJV) Jesus said unto him, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy souls, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love the neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

The Great Commission

(Matthew 28: 19-20 KJV) “ go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
