Summer is in full swing at Charrette and it is going to be a very busy one, at that. After a year of COVID that saw a near full-stop on all activities, it is a great thing to see all the hustle and bustle of events and activities lining the calendar. Just in case you haven’t been paying attention, let me provide a quick recap of what has already happened and what is on the summer horizon for Charrette.
JULY 4th CELEBRATION:
What an evening to have over 50 of our church family and new faces from our community join us for a fun celebration. With a last minute addition of an ARCH helicopter, local first responders joined us to bring smiles to kids both young and young at heart. We had plenty of food to go around and folks added an arsenal of fireworks to cap off the evening.
This is a first for Charrette and it started out with a bang! The first Story Hour featured Ms Jenny and Ally. Story Hour will feature sharing of stories by special guest readers as well as projects for the kids. They will be providing at least two Story Hours per month – one in the morning and another in the evening.
CYBER SECURITY SEMINAR:
There are many concerns for privacy and personal security in this day of technology. With so many questions and concerns, our very own Peter Harman will be leading a FREE seminar on cybersecurity and privacy.
It has been a while since the last VBS, so the excitement level continues to increase with each passing day and registration. We will have a bible stories, games, and hot dogs. We will also be handing out school supplies (courtesy of the Marthasville Ambulance District), food (courtesy Warren County Food Pantry), backpack and cleaning supplies (courtesy Charrette Church)
2ND ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS BEGINS:
Starting with the first Sunday in August, we will be restarting our other adult Sunday School class. This will give folks more options as to the style of learning they prefer in addition to helping with classroom space.
PASTOR’S DISCIPLESHIP CLASS IN THE WINGS:
Starting in September, a special class will be offered during the Sunday School hour for anyone who is either a young believer or would like a “refresher” in the basics of being a follower of Christ. DFD will focus on seven areas of spiritual disciplines to help a believer discover how to develop Christian character, to have victory over sin, and grow toward maturity in ones walk with Christ.
NEW MEMBERS CLASS:
I’ve started the process of formulating a “new members” class – CHARRETTE CONNECTIONS. While it targets new members, it is also for anyone that would like to know more about Charrette. At the end of the class, there will be an opportunity for participants to follow through with membership consideration.
A challenge has been given to be intentional with sharing your faith with those around you and it starts with ONE. That ONE can be a friend, relative, co-worker, or someone that God is placing on your mind. Praying for this ONE is crucial. As you pray, consider inviting them to get a drink, to a meal, and/or even to church. But it all start with ONE. Who’s your one?
